Tips for Men for Valentine’s Day
In Italy, it is usually men who go out of their way to make Valentine’s day and evening special - no wonder they have the reputation of being the most romantic among European men.So men, here are some tips:
The key to a special Valentine’s Day is showing that you have been paying attention to her likes and desires all year, so:
- If you are going to buy flowers buy the ones she likes, not what convention dictates or is on special
- If it’s chocolate, does she like dark or milk chocolate? A box of handmade chocolates that have been individually picked by you shows thought, and often that’s what women care about the most
- If you want to buy her lingerie, make sure that you’re buying for her, not you.
- Some women like to keep things simple on Valentine’s Day and some expect you to go all out - know which one she prefers and expects
- If she is a ‘keep it simple’ type you could try one of these simple yet romantic ideas: running her a luxurious bath, while you cook dinner: taking her to a movie (that she will enjoy): packing a picnic and taking her to a park or by the sea at sunset for dinner (remember the picnic blanket)
- If she expects you to go all out - this article is too late for you and hopefully you’ve already had lots of practice in keeping her happy
Having said all that, I think the key to a happy Valentine’s Day is in not making it a ‘how much does he (or she) love me’ test that your partner will either pass or fail. Words of appreciation in a card can go a long way in showing how much you care.
And then, why wait for Valentine’s Day to do any of the above.
